A few months before, there’re many speculations regarding Oppo’s new chipset. As of now, a big brand like Oppo needs to make independent mobile chips for their smartphone. It is because of the continuing suppression of the United States against Huawei and other Chinese brands.

In the smartphone industry, the top three brands have it’s on a mobile chipset like iPhone has Apple Bionic chip, Samsung has Exynos, and Huawei has Kirin. Likely, Oppo also started massive recruitment for the new chipset’s manufacturing according to some latest reports. Oppo is trying to poach engineers from other companies like Mediatek, Qualcomm, and Huawei.

As of now, the company recruited Jeffrey Ju, and he is a former MediaTek’s COO. Earlier, he has been a consultant at OPPO for a while.

Furthermore, as per the source, another executive involved in the development of MediaTek’s 5G smart chip will also join Oppo within a month or two. Anyway, this will help Oppo achieve its goal for mobile chipset and reduce its dependence on US suppliers. According to industry insiders, it may take years to achieve the best results, even against Huawei, who has a lot of battles to fight presently.
