Google camera is a powerful camera app for smartphone photography. Nowadays, you can see on many Android smartphones, especially on budget and mid-range. Gcam provides stunning photos that we have seen on default camera mode in Pixel 2, 3, 3a, and 4. Further, share the photos where the people see.
In this article, I will show you how to get the latest version of Google camera v7.0 on any android device with added astrophotography to night sight.
Before getting into the installation, you need to keep in mind that you must install Camera2api in your respective smartphone. I think many of the smartphones provide this option without rooting your phone. For me, I just need to unlock the bootloader for the Xiaomi device.
On the other hand, almost every Gcam APK needs XML files for certain phones, which will help to get some features like astrophotography. However, some device doesn’t need these files as the APK is already optimized for a particular device. I will provide step by step process to install XML config at last.
Download Google Camera Mode for your Device
- There are many developers for GCam like Urnyxo5, BSG, Parroto43, Arnova, and more. However, I’m using Parroto43’s Google camera 7.3 modes on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 pro.
- They’ve developed GCam APK for a range of smartphones. So, you can download the APK mode according to your particular device. For that, just click the link provided below.
Google Camera APK: DOWNLOAD LINK
- After downloading, install it in a normal way, but some of the device blocks since the App download from a third-party source. However, you can just tap on “ALLOW” and proceed. That’s it.
- Open the app and grant permission for some process if they ask.
- Now your new Google Camera 7.3 is ready for use. So, time to install configure XML file.
How to Locate the XML file on Android Phones
After downloading GCam, now you can get an XML config file from the site and download it. Further, create a folder in the file manager named ConfigsCamera7.
Now locate the XML file that you downloaded before. Most probably can get it from the Download folder. Now, move or copy the XML config file to the ConfigsCamera7 folder that we created. That’s it.
A further process, open GCam application, and double-tap near on the black bar around the shutter button. Now, a dialog box will appear and select the XML config file that you just moved before from the drop-down menu. Finally, you just need to tap on the RESTORE button. Now the Google Camera Mode will work with more features.
How to enable astrophotography mode
For enabling astrophotography mode you just need to do in a manual way. For that swipe down on the viewfinder and go to settings, thereafter scroll and find advanced option. Now again scroll down and find Astrophotography mode near Night Sight. Further, click for enable.
Moreover, note that you need a tripod and a dark place to activate this feature for better photos.
One of the best features that I liked from Google Pixel Camera mode is the RAW image option for taking photos. Other features include HDR+ enhanced, JPEG+RAW photos, Social share, video up to 4K for some device, added touch and hold for the shutter button to capture top photos.
Note that the latest Google camera/GCam version supports dual exposure control to adjust HDR and brightness for your photos.
Take amazing photos using Google Camera
Finally, now you can capture top shot photos and videos using Google camera 7.3 as well as, take a stunning picture of the milky ways and night sight photos without any bug or crash.
