As we all know, last year US put Huawei and some other Chinese brand to entity list, which means that these brands can’t work with US companies anymore. The ban highly affected the Chinese manufacture Huawei and the US tech giant Google relationship, which cannot use Google Mobile Services (GMS). However, the company launched Huawei’s HMS to replace Google’s GMS service in the last year’s developer conference.

Wang Yanmin, President of Huawei’s Consumer Business, revealed that the number of Huawei’s HMS developers has increased by 15% to 1.4 million. In February 2020, the company achieved 1.3 million registered developers for HMS core. The company revealed it in Huawei’s 17th Global Analyst Conference 2020.

At the Huawei P40 series launch conference, Huawei announced that the first time the flagship Huawei P40 series would use its own HMS service and AppGallery application store. Besides, HMS is available in over 170 countries around the world and has over 400 million monthly active users as per the source.

The US is not going to lift the ban on Huawei anytime soon. The government just added a new rule that restricts foreign semiconductor makers who use American technology must obtain a US license to ship Huawei-designed semiconductors to the Chinese company. This rule restricts the TSMC to business with Huawei, which is one behind Huawei’s Kirin chips.

The Huawei is seeking to find the best alternatives for TSMC. As per the new report, the company is also working closely with SMIC, which is a Chinese chipmaker. Anyway, the Huawei had placed considerable orders to the TSMC for $700 million to produce its 5 and 7nm chips.
